5 /5 m s: David DePape was unable to advance an insanity defense, which was publicly announced by counsel. And he could not be dissuaded from testifying, which was peculiar. And then got sentenced to life without parole in a case where no one died. Yikes! Was this part of an intentional effort to lay out grounds for a future appeal based on ineffectual counsel? Not sure. But this was a wild defense and even wilder sentence. This one would haunt me.
