1 /5 Xinyu Xue: Did not have a great experience for my very first injury case. The incident happened in December 2022, the case was dropped in April 2024. No communication in between, no updates, and no follow up. I have to call and ask for follow up myself. Since this was my first time, I have no experience. But they want to give attitude when I ask and clarify questions, phrases such as "that JUST how it works." was not expected and out of place. A waste of my time and energy.

1 /5 S Malmberg: I was referred to this law firm to help me with my accident a year ago. Everything was fine at first. The communication became non existent and I would leave messages asking for updates. When I would call and someone actually answered, it was always a different person who then told me my case manager would give me a call. I had 4 different case managers in a year. I only found that out just recently. I got a call Tuesday of last week saying that I need to come pick up my case file because they don’t have anyone to handle my case anymore and I would need to find another representation. When I let her know that I needed to check my work schedule to see when I can go pick it up, she said that it needed to be picked up by Friday. I told her that there was no way I can pick it up that fast. Obviously they knew ahead of time but called at the last minute. Looking at the other reviews, looks like I’m not the only one who had this issue.

1 /5 Pidee T.: I would give him Zero star, I can. First met, he is caring and seem to be so nice to help you win the case. We won the case for a car accident, but once he had received the settlement check since Feb 2024. You will never ever hear or reach ahold of him again. He denied and ignored to contact you. I had tried to contact him numerous times, both calling his office and text him. No response! As of today, May 31st, 2024, I had never received my portion of the settlement. He is an untrustworthy lawyer who took your money and wont pay you as you had been told from the beginning.

1 /5 ma lu: After 2 years they finally called me because they reached a settlement and I was so happy that I was finally over. I went to sign the papers and Sean told me that the insurance company would pay for all my bills and the check would come in 3 wks. I even got a paper from the insurance company saying that they mailed the check to his office. Jan comes and I still havent received anything...they gave me an appt for Feb and mr Carrillo tells me that the insurance didnt want to pay because of some issue and says that he might have to open the case. I call several times after that and they give me some "theyre still negotiating" story. Its been 8 months since we reached a settlement and Im sure he kept all of the money for himself. I went to this law firm because it was recommended to me but that lawyer is a fraud!

1 /5 Ashley: ‼️ UPDATE 04/09/2025 Just received an email from The State Bar of California. Rafael Carrillo is no longer entitled to practice law in the state of California. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Carrillo Law Firm. Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews, my encounter has been nothing short of a disheartening and frustrating ordeal, leaving me with no choice but to express my dissatisfaction. Upon parting with a substantial sum of $5000 on May 11, 2023, in the hope of securing competent legal assistance for my family custody case, I was met with a series of disappointments and unfulfilled promises. Rather than receiving the expected level of personalized attention and legal expertise, my case was carelessly shuffled between various paralegals within the office, with Rafael Carrillo himself failing to demonstrate the necessary commitment and regard for the seriousness of my situation. In a distressing turn of events, I was eventually referred to another attorney, Mr. Francisco Medina, who, in stark contrast to my previous experience, displayed a commendable level of dedication and competence in handling my case, ultimately providing the services that I had initially sought from Rafael Carrillo. Matters did not improve following the conclusion of my case on July 11, 2023. Despite my repeated requests, I was met with a prolonged and unacceptable delay in receiving a statement of services and the remaining portion of my retainer. It wasnt until October 16, 2023, that I finally received a billing and summary, accompanied by assurances that my due payment had been dispatched. It’s been four months since the conclusion of my case and I finally received the remaining balance on November 22, 2023. Adding to the list of disappointments, I still have not received the court-stamped copy of the FOAH, further adding to my frustration and dissatisfaction with the Carrillo Law Firm. Jessica, the office manager stated that she would have the FOAH to me by 11/27/2023. I will update when I have received that. In summary, my interaction with the Carrillo Law Firm has been characterized by a profound lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic client care, culminating in an experience that falls far short of the standards one would reasonably expect from a legal service provider. As I reflect on this deeply unsatisfactory experience, I am left questioning the validity of the numerous positive reviews that have seemingly failed to reflect the disheartening reality of my encounter with this firm.
