Steve S I opened a new savings and checking account. PCU did an HARD inquiry on my credit, even though I was Not applying for a loan. Most banks would have the sense to do a soft inquiry which wouldn’t count against credit ratings. Since I may be applying for a mortgage in the coming months, this would count as a strike against me in terms of inquiries. They said they can’t do anything about it.
