1 /5 Todd Keil: * WARNING * I was in Truist Bank on Eldorado in McKinney this morning and this bank has truly lost its way regarding customer service ! PLEASE go to Texans Credit Union a short distance away or CU Texas across the street for better banking and customer support.
I went in the Truist lobby at 11:00 AM, the bank closes at Noon, and there were about 8 people waiting in line for service from a single teller. The line was longer and slower than Dunkin Donuts! There were two employees behind the counter, but only one was assisting customers. Other than yelling out every few minutes, "thank you for your patience," it wasnt clear what the other employee was actually doing.
When it was finally my turn, after 20 minutes, I asked the teller to deposit CASH into my wifes account. The teller informed me Truist cant accept a cash deposit into my wifes account since I am not an account owner, but they will accept a personal check or money order...??? A novel banking idea......accepting cash is a good thing, and much less risky than a personal check or money from a fraud perspective. One would think accepting cash is a great banking business model, but not at Truist.
After leaving Truist, I went to Texans Credit Union where we have most of our accounts. As I walked in a busy Texans lobby, I noticed 3 tellers on duty actually helping customers, and 2 additional customer service reps to assist people with account openings, loans, etc. I only waited in line about 45 seconds before I was helped.
I asked if I could deposit cash in my daughters account even though I am not on the account. The Texans response, "of course, happy to help you."
I asked Texans if there are restrictions on depositing cash in a third-party account and was told, absolutely not as long as you have a valid ID.
Much better customer service at Texans and they get the innovative banking approach of accepting cash !
Avoid Truist and go to Texans or CU Texas! We are moving our last remaining Truist account to Texans !
