I originally chose The Bettersworth Law Firm because of their many five-star reviews. What started as a simple, uncontested divorce turned into a year-long, high-conflict battle—beginning with a falsified ex-parte protective order. In the end, I walked away with 50/50 custody, more than half my estate, and true confidence in my future. Emily Barkdull was incredible from day one. She called me on a holiday weekend during one of the lowest points in my life to offer support—and even worked part of that weekend to help correct a wrong. Emily is passionate, focused, and fights hard. At times, she was more driven than I was. Yet she also brought calm, patience, and wisdom—knowing when to push, when to hold steady, and when to block out the noise (even if that noise was me!). He helped me through a multi-year complicated divorce that involved three businesses, commercial properties, and was extremely contentious. James was very responsive. He expertly navigated the complexities of a divorce as a business owner. He was not cheap but it was worth it. I feel like his greatest strength is actually at trial.
