5 /5 Tricia Kimbrough: Cathy McCartney is an outstanding Attorney and person. She worked with my sister and I on gaining guardianship of my mother in a very difficult legal situation. She truly cares for the elderly and that justice is served on their behalf. She poured herself into this case taking calls, texts, and emails at all hours. Her ethics are impeccable.

5 /5 Rick Overholt: Before finding the McCartney Law Office, I found it difficult to just get past getting a ballpark quote for working on my estate. The other places I called felt like I was treading on sacred territory, intimidating and vague. Visiting with Cathy, my wife and I felt very relaxed and she spoke in understandable layman’s terms. In fact, from our first brief phone call she was very easy to talk to. There was quite a surprise with Hill Country costs when we first moved here from Houston. Contractors, medical and attorney rates seemed quite a bit more expensive. The hourly rates at McCartney seemed more in line with “big city” prices in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. Cathy was also willing to discuss flat rates openly. She explained how each case is different but then did give us a price range. Our Estate was in fact more complicated than average, and while trusts are certainly challenging, I walked away from our first meeting with a much better understanding of my options and our obstacles. One of the other firms that advertised a Horseshoe Bay address turned out to have just a “shell” office. They only meets here with clients a couple of days a month. They were very vague in pricing, and required signing in Austin. We were really hoping to find a local provider, and it looks like we have! I will update this review once we get this wrapped up.
