2 /5 Sigani Arreola: I do not recommend Gustavo Elizondo as an attorney. I retained him to represent my son and feel he didnt do a good job. Dont waste your money, a public defender will put more effort into your case than he does. I thought about changing attorney mid-way through but he said I would still have to pay him the full about because he charges a set fee regardless of the work he puts in or the outcome of the case. He did get a bond reduction but apparently thats all hes good at. It was hard getting a hold of him as I had to call the automated system, talk to his secretary, and schedule a phone call before I could talk to him every time. Then after waiting days to talk to him, he would try to rush me off the phone. Any updates or information he would give me, I already had from looking at the District Court website or getting the police report myself. I put more work in then he did. He tried to convince my son to take the first deal the prosecutor offered so he didnt have to put any actual work in. Thank God I stayed on him and didnt give up. My son ended up getting a decent deal but I feel a public defender coulda got him the same deal for free.
