1 /5 Troy Barker: This is the worst credit union I have ever dealt with. I wanted to pick a credit union nearby the area I moved. I choose out of Amoco, Wellby, and coastal. I regrettably choose this horrible credit union. I opened an account and everything was approved. This included sending my drivers license and social. I went out of town for the following day. I logged into my account while out of town to make sure everything was ok and looked at the credit savvy. I was locked out of the account. They told me logging into the account of state seemed like fraud and I needed to step into branch. Went into league city branch once I got back told them it was me. They made me reset my username and password in branch at the time. Today I received email to look at credit savy to look at updates. The account is locked again. They have not been any transactions on the account so I can not understand why. I call into Amaco and receive the rudest customer service agent who only wanted to be called Denise from risk management. She had an attitude, could not explain why the account was locked, and basically told me she would power trip and permanently close my checking account. I explained that why would I walk into branches and show my face if my attempt was to commit fraud. I then go into a branch to speak to a manger. I chose the Galveston branch. Once again showing my face. The branch manager was kind but was asking a ton of personal questions which made me feel like she was also trying to say it was fraud. I gave all information asked only for her to come back and say they won’t tell her why the account shut down. All she kept saying was logins and other stuff. Once again couldn’t tell me the other stuff. Told me she couldn’t see anything. I told her I would have went elsewhere in that case because now I have a hard inquiry on my chexsystems and chose the worst of the three. I was told she could not give any information and “Brian “ would call me. It’s obvious now why she didn’t put a title on Brian. Brian calls me and he has no answers at all. He then tells me he is the head of security. Not online security. Not fraud. Branch security. I guess I was suppose to be intimated. Why am I speaking to someone who has nothing to do with what’s going on! I informed the Galveston branch manager that the other stuff they can’t say is definitely profiling. Denise and the risk management team definitely saw a black man and auto assumed bc I logged in elsewhere it was fraud. No transactions. Just logins. This was a racially motivated situation. Stay far away from Amoco and the several lying employees who need customer service training.
