The staff are wildly inappropriate towards residents. I witnessed way too many outright screaming matches between staff with residents, too many out of pocket things said about residents either to their face or behind their backs. I personally received a religious pamphlet from a staff member unprompted only two weeks into my stay.
My greatest recommendation is that if you or a residing family member is experiencing inappropriate behaviour from staff, record it. I did so when a staff member used a one-on-one "counseling" session to hound me about my gender to a point that felt frankly creepy, for the whole hour. I was threatened & it was implied this wasnt legal, but New York is a one-party consent state for just this sort of scenario. Do not let them scare you out of documenting how incompetent, cruel & neglectful they may be.
Everyone in the mental health facilities of Delaware County knows how bad this residence is. If you relay it by word of mouth, it wont come as any surprise to those you do share it with, but personally, I think a lot more could be done about it if there was outright documentation of how unprofessional they act.
Nobody going into rehab for any reason deserves to be yelled at or harassed by people who are supposed to be helping them and who oversee their housing. Get it on the record, do not let them try to threaten you out of it so they can keep treating residents poorly.
