Chris Dewards I’ve worked with several financial planning firms over the years, and candidly, most left me frustrated, whether due to inexperience, high turnover, poor follow-through, poor or rushed service, and a general sense that I was just part of the assembly line. Most importantly, I found that firms in the past were always ‘selling me’ on something (ex: an annuity or life insurance policy I didn’t need) vs. educating. About 3 years ago I moved my family and business wealth to AFG, specifically Steve Kennedy’s team. A few things that were impressive: Responsiveness- regardless of the complexity. Never issues sending an email into the void. Nothing slips through the cracks. High-Level Acumen without the sales pitch- Steve’s been able to navigate extremely complex financial, estate and business owner topics and distill them down into plain English. Support Staff- Whatever model they have, works real well. You don’t feel like you’re dealing with a call center but a well-run family business. With Steve and his team, we feel as if we are family. After years of bouncing between other firms that never really delivered, I couldn’t be happier with AFG. The combination of responsiveness, depth of knowledge, and the way they humanize financial planning is exactly what I had been searching for. — Chris

Will Kesecker I had the pleasure of meeting Russell to discuss my financial future. This has been a stressful topic for my wife and and really hoped to find someone that could point us in the right direction in how to manage or investments. Russell was up for the task, He sat us down and explained the different things we can do to ensure or financial safety as we grow older. He made us feel like we where a friend of the family and not just another client to add to his list. He made sure that we understood the different risk levels and what he felt would fit us best! In the end I left the meeting feeling empowered and ready to take on the next step in life to provide myself and my family the life style we have worked so hard to get! Anthony Went to the courthouse, turned in a fix it ticket so I didn’t have to come in later. Judge then tries talking down to me like im a child. He dismissed the case but he has no people skills what’s so ever and comes off as “I’m better then you”

Jonah Minkoff-Zern We worked with Joe for a few years. While he was patient working through various issues with us, it felt that he didnt have time to help in the end. Last year he made a mistake filing our taxes - which is OK - mistakes happen - but instead of taking the time to fix it or look into it, he put it back on me to try to figure it out when I received the notification from the State. It took a lot of time and effort for me to figure out what had happened (as Im not an accountant) and when he finally took the time to look and realized that he had made a not insignificant mistake - a mistake that led to us planing financially for a return that was much higher than our actual return; he didnt offer an apology - let alone a discount off a rate that somehow had increased by 50% from the previous year without warning (I found out when I received an invoice). Im sure for other accounts he could do better - for people with more knowledge of the tax system, etc. as I do think he is knowledgeable. It definitely was not a good experience for us in the end.
