1 /5 Debbie Wiggins: I am publishing my review of Dearborn Federal Savings Bank in Dearborn Heights for myself, my late father and everyone that cares about reviews. My dad told me a story once about a teller there that made him so furious he stopped going to this location. I thought he was just being critical and it was during covid. He passed 4/2023 and I had to take over his estate and deal with the bank. I had no problem with this bank and they were helpful in opening the estate account with me. I had a few issues but was able to work around the obstacles they put in my way. The branch was convenient for me. The last time I was there, I remembered my dads story and had an epiphany they did not want my business or my money. Heres why. I went to my bank (this bank) to take care of a financial issue and they treated me like I walked in from nowhere and was some kind of criminal. They hold thousands of my dollars and I am there weekly. They would not take care of my $167.00 western union check that I purchased on accident along with 2 other checks totaling under $300.00. I had not signed any of them, and 2 of them had not been endorsed. They could not be cashed. They refused to take the checks before they even checked if there was a policy not to. One teller actually said that there was no way for them to know that the checks had not already been cashed, even though I was standing there with them in hand still attached at the perforation line and the receipt. Western union money orders could not be refunded at Meijer. I was told by Meijer that my bank would take care of it or I could call Western Union. I chose my bank of course. They are insured up to 250,000.00 and they have my money. There is no reason why they would not take care of me and make my day easier. Right? Wrong. It is with respect, and for the principles of a banking establishment that I write this review for all citizens out there that expect their banking establishment to do there best job at taking care of there constituents. It is a bank. I am a member. It is my opinion and my review over time that this bank does not run with integrity nor do they care about you. I apologized to my dad in heaven and said I would pay it forward. I am disabled and it took 3 hours to get this together but I did it. Youre welcome. Thank you for reading.
