1 /5 Melanie Goff: I used to think NFCU was the best, recently they have proved that wrong. I’ve been a member for 34 years and had a checking account that was open with them even longer. The account was recently charged off. I had no access to online banking. I was never notified that there was a negative balance on the account. They have multiple email, phone numbers, and addresses on file. They did not reach out to me once about the negative balance on my account, they just charged it off to a creditor instead. I spoke with a supervisor over the phone, Lanita, who was very rude. It’s sad - NFCU values state they put their members first, and that they strive to do what’s right, that they serve with compassion. From my recent experiences, I can personally say that NFCU does not live up to its core values like they did in the past.

1 /5 Dwayne May: NFCU credit cards suck!!!! 25 YEAR MEMBER and I am soooo tired of declined transaction for no valid reason!!!. They scewed me real good on Black Friday!! No deals for my family!! They thought my purchases at Walmart was fraud!!! WORST CREDIT CARD EVER!!!!!

1 /5 Lance Williams: This is a warning to everyone thinking about using NFCU in the future. Don’t, we had to close our account at a previous bank because they only exist in the previous state we were at. I did a mobile deposit with a cashiers check which is guaranteed funds and NFCU held the check for five business days which turned out to be seven total (Thurs-Thursday). Went to the branch and waited in the lobby for 20 mins, being passed over for service by multiple employees even after explaining my situation to the receptionist. Called the member support number and had my situation escalated since we just moved here for the Army and bought a house, having no access to our money. They keep citing “policy” but can’t explain why my guaranteed funds that can be verified through contacting the previous bank, have been put on a freeze. The mobile deposit tips chart only says two business days. Two paragraphs down mentioned five days on hold but doesn’t mention what qualifies for that five days. Even the federal reserve’s own policy says that if I start a new account with a cashiers check I should have access to at least $5000 the next day. So this is an internal policy based on no actual stipulations. Now it’s been escalated to a case manager and they don’t actually have to contact you for two business days. Worst banking experience I’ve ever had. This would’ve been handled by a teller at my old bank through a phone call to the previous bank to validate the funds, that’s why they did it that way.

1 /5 Jake: Good luck to anyone that banks with them! I recommend going elsewhere! Oh and if you deposit a check in your account this isn’t very big at all… get ready to wait 6 days before the funds are in your account, Even tho the branch employees tell you it’ll be available the next morning!
