Evangeline Community Action - Ville Platte

Mary Sue Hampton Long Recently my son and I were having financial problems and went here for assistance with a past due utility bill. The ladies were friendly and so helpful. They put our minds at ease both by getting us help with the bill and by making us feel more comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. Upon hearing that we have only lived here for a short time, they told us to give them a call with ANY questions and they would do their best to provide answers. Excellent staff, helpful service

John Mertens They committed acts of discrimination against me and others for being on Social Security. Direct deposit social security payments are some of the most secure in the world. The Family Financial Center discriminated against me and others refsung to do business with us because of our retirement status.

Office of Community Services - Natchitoches

Neil These so called community services are a complete joke. They set up a day in which low income people can call to get an appointment for assistance. I’ve watched my mother try to contact these people at the time they listed(8am) to get this assistance with her bills but after calling over a hundred times, no answer or busy. When you do finally get through, they say we’re out of funds… she has been doing this for months to no avail. I’m completely and utterly fed up with this system. There are people trying to get assistance like my mother who’s over 70 and on a very low fixed income that’s quite a bit below the set threshold. Time to set in motion the much needed changes because I have found out that they are setting aside assistance for people they know, friends and so forth. This has to end and the proper audits set in motion.
