Erma Ofreneo My home was being affected by mine subsidence and experiencing significant damage. I had been submitting claims with my insurance provider throughout a span of several years to at least have the damage assessed and have a fair determination of whether it was caused by mine subsidence. The insurance provider ignored my claims, did not take them seriously, and the assistance I was provided was lackluster. I sought the help of Marty Haxel and his firm for help on how to handle this matter. He went above and beyond with his service. He helped me navigate the process of obtaining proof from certified professionals, which included a geologist and structural engineer, to correctly attribute the damage to mine subsidence. He guided me on how to overcome the bureaucratic obstructions created by the insurance provider and force them to review my case properly. In the end, his expertise and care helped me reach a settlement with my insurance provider that I was satisfied with. He always made himself available when I had questions. His answers and explanations were concise and thoughtful. A problem that seemed impossible and unfair was made manageable and much easier to deal with. Andrew Enright Buckle in…just came across some paperwork and it totally reminded me I never left these absolute criminals a review about my custody case! Back in 2017 my mom and I hired these people to fight a custody hearing. My daughter was up in Wisconsin with her grandparents (on vacation because they never got to see her and NOT a legal resident yet) during that period the mother of my child and I split up, she ran back to Wisconsin and immediately had me served with custody papers. I had just started a new job to support my family so there were no sick days or days I could call off on such short notice. Upon hiring these people we were nickel and dimed for everything and was told by the lawyer “we will file a motion to vacate as your daughter is not a legal resident of Wisconsin, you don’t have to goto the court date (6 and a half hours away) her case will come unraveled and she will be ordered to bring your daughter back to Illinois then you can file here” I asked many many times “are you sure I don’t have to go?” I was reassured that my presence was 100% NOT required. Now, I’ll give them this, they were correct I was not required to appear because my daughter wasn’t a legal resident of Wisconsin. HOWEVER, That was only true had they filed the motion to vacate in time to have the mother of my child served and to make the judge aware that the child was not a legal resident and had no jurisdiction in the matter. TELL ME WHY she was NEVER served and my mother and I had to call the sheriffs department up there to inform them of what courtroom she was in attempting to have her served before the judgment was entered! Even then they got there too late, the judgement for full custody had been entered. It doesn’t stop there, they were hired to perform a service which they undoubtedly failed to do so. Upon taking natters into my OWN hands and now having to hire a lawyer in Wisconsin these people would not offer ANY of the retainer back to assist in additional legal costs. It has ruined my life, my daughter’s life and if you value your family. STAY AWAY AND DO NOT LET THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE REPRESENT YOUR INTERESTS! This was a classical case of laziness and gross negligence and honestly I think I’m going to start looking into legal action against this firm now that I’m on my own two feet again. Either to recoup a portion of this cost and/or file a complaint with the bar just to make it known! Imagine paying someone THOUSANDS of dollars and putting your trust in them to do their job and fight for you and they just lay down and essentially do nothing. The outcome of this tragedy of a case? The mother of my child went almost two years without allowing me visitations or even the ability to speak with my daughter. To Davi law: I never got the chance to express to you how horribly disappointed I am in your service. Stick to criminal law because you clearly don’t have the know how or compassion to handle ANYTHING to do with families.
