1 /5 Justin Jockisch: I had Ben Mills. He ATE through $3,000 of the $4,000 retainer fee that I paid. All he did was set up the court date and request the parenting plan that we had already written for him before hiring him. Hes also extremely unprofessional. We sent his three emails and called him six times, and two weeks later there was still no response. Now I had to pay another $5,000 to get a new lawyer because he somehow used all the money I gave him and didnt do anything. So thanks Ben. For ensuring that I lost $9,000 before the court date even began. I asked him simple questions like "what are the fathers rights?", "If she tries to use text messages against me can I do the same?", and "Why would I pay money to her for child support if I dont even get to see the kid and we havent even went to court?".. Of course Ben wrote it off as an annoyance and didnt respond to any of those basic questions. He used up $3,000 and pretty much did the absolute bare minimum and then ignored anything we said to him until the money was gone. Then when my court date was rescheduled, he didnt even bother to tell me about it until a couple days before. He was very unprofessional, unqualified, and unacceptable by any standards that anyone would have from any attorney. They also blew me off when I told them I hired a new lawyer and kept the remaining money left in the retainer free of course. Im sure many of youre probably looking at Murphy and Dunn because they have a reputation for being the best Family Law firm in the area, and maybe some of them are, but Ben Mills is is literally just warm body who is going to take your money and then disappear through most of the case. No consultation, no effort, no response most days. My case wasnt important enough to put effort into apparently, but dont worry they certainly kept my $4,000. Absolutely clown show.
