1 /5 Edoardo Tortoledo: Worse customer service experience I’ve had, at ANY bank, Chat agent (Jenna R), not sure if she was inexperienced or if that’s a protocol but absolutely no help, i clearly had mentioned that I couldn’t make a payment thru the phone and she tells me to “call” goes to give me the number and the a “pre made response” when that’s precisely why I opened the chat, to get someone to help, i explained to her again, just to received a very similar response, I previously had Bank of the West, which we know was taken over, and it was by far a much better bank. After having 15 different accounts at other banks, I never came across such terrible lack of customer service support.

1 /5 Jennifer: I would never bank here. Customer service is unreal, when I needed to cash a check the bank manager and personal banker asking why I need my money, where I worked and other personal information. Stated that information is needed to cash a check or take money out of your account . Keep in mind that it was not a large check and funds are available in that account. After this experience, I will never bank here again. Account is closed. Moving to another bank with my accounts.

1 /5 JZ: I hope no one is victim to identity theft involving BMO Bank! They have ZERO empathy or understanding and clearly want to take no responsibility of their own. I unfortunately discovered my identity had been stolen with several accounts and credit cards opened under my name and SS# a few weeks ago. I spent hours on the phone with multiple banks/creditors canceling accounts and reversing the negative impacts to my credit. All were great to work with and very understanding with the exception of BMO, who essentially accused me of lying and wanted me to jump through hoops to prove that I did not open a checking account across the country from where I live. All of the other banks have already resolved everything but I am still waiting on the Fraud Department at BMO after submitting all of the additional items they requested. They could not be more rude and unwilling to help. I would never bank with this institution and feel bad for anyone that is forced to work with them due to identity theft.

Its a complete waste of time, energy and money. Is the idea REALLY to PO ALL your potential customers?? Because THAT is the result. Weve TOLD YOU, SEVERAL TIMES, to KNOCK it. Off. Is ANYONE stupid enough to buy into your bull??? Well NEVER do any business there, partly from the harassment and the rest because of ignoring BASIC INSTRUCTIONS. Like "go away??"

1 /5 Amy Mendoes: I have had fraud on my BMO account 4 times in 2024. I am still waiting for a provisional credit from Dec 13, 2024 so I can close my account. My bank account was frozen due to someone from an unregistered device accessed my online banking. This was done on Christmas eve and they froze my account and was unable to get any money to travel to my familys house 4 hours away. I have to call almost daily to find out if a provisional credit was deposited from the fraud in Dec to close my account. I had to file a complaint on the person who originally filed the claim since she only included 1 item when there were 2. Actually there was almost 6 but when the first alert happened I turned my card off. When I ended up going into the branch after Christmas I had to wait for over an hour to get any money and on top of that the branch manager told me to get an account at a different bank. I have had nothing but problems with this bank and just want my money back so I can close this damn account.
