1 /5 Melissa Bates: I banked there for years (at least 12-15 yrs). I understand they are a smaller credit union; however, I always seem to have a problem when I cash a check for a large amount, as if Im a new client. I called them to let them know I was bringing in a large check, it had my married name on it and have changed to maiden name. Also, asked them if they would call to verify the check so they wouldnt have to put a hold on it. They said it should not be a problem.. WELL IT WAS!! I was there over an hour....they wouldnt call to verify the funds of the check, wanted to put at least a 7 day hold, because my married name was on check. I provided legal documents supporting name change; including documentation from judge to use maiden name, current drivers license, and marriage certificate to show was married with that name. Still wouldnt budge.
I left, went to another bank, opened a new account with all documentation in hand. They called to verify validity of check. All good.
