1 /5 Emily Anderson: Recently, a relative of mine passed away in CA and I was appointed co-trustee on the trust. I have never experienced such a disorganization of a bank ever, until my husband and I walked into the Ft. Oglethorpe office of Wells Fargo Bank to handle the accounts and affairs that my relative had in CA.
I spent 36 years working in the banking and finance world, and our experience there was a nightmare!
What should have taken two trips to get appointed as a signer on the new trust account in CA, ended up becoming five visits to get everything finalized!
Lets review the math. Thats five visits at 44 miles round trip and this didnt include the waste of precious time and mind you, the HOURS we spent dealing with their estate care department over these visits.
Every time the personal banker in Ft. O would place a call into their estate care department, she would get a different person who required different documents, it seemed like nobody knew the correct policy or procedure. Granted, they ATTEMPTED to help us get everything taken care of, but it still wasnt the personal care that we felt we deserved!
Were thankful for the attention and respect we get from our own personal business at another bank in town, even after 25 years of great service!
