Miranda Ponder My husband received a letter dismissing his case and the state attempted to reopen it and charge him. Which was double jeopardy. We had a trash public defender who was obviously working with the state to railroad my husband. We hired Derek Law from Sexton & Moody. He got right on the case and was very knowledgeable about the laws. From the day he took the case, my husband did not have to say another word in court. He handled it. Our court date came and he presented the case and explained why the state could not charge him for a case that was already dismissed. The state tried to pull up some BS law and Derek shut it down. The judge ruled in our favor and the case was dismissed. I cant thank them enough. I would recommend this law firm. Now I will say one thing, they are very busy.
