As a Black father, I’ve worked relentlessly to support and raise my child — financially, emotionally, and physically — without a single ounce of support from the mother. Everything I’ve done has been documented and done with purpose. What I expected from my attorney was representation. What I received was betrayal.
We agreed to a $3,500 retainer. After mediation, without warning, she suddenly demanded another $6,000 to go to trial. Still trying to trust the process, I paid $2,500 in cash. In return, I was insulted, dismissed, and left unprotected.
During a phone call, she told me I “had issues” and needed therapy. That wasn’t professional guidance — that was emotional abuse. She ignored key evidence, delayed my case by an entire year, and failed to act on behalf of my child’s best interests.
What’s even worse is that many of the documents and legal strategies she presented were not hers. They came from me and my uncle, a licensed attorney. I had already drafted and filed the original agreement with the court before she even got involved — her role was supposed to be support, but she turned it into sabotage. And yes, I still have the original agreement, the financial records, and the bank statements to prove every word.
Your legal “representation” was performative at best and harmful at worst. My current legal team — real professionals — reviewed your entire case file and were appalled at how poorly I was served. They saw through the false accusations and the laziness. Your public response is a lie. Do not push me to post the receipts, because I will.
And let me make something absolutely clear: my son is thriving today. But not because of you. He’s doing great because I believed in fairness, in fatherhood, and in doing the right thing — even when the legal system made it harder. The final agreement I have with the court? It’s the same one I originally filed — before you ever stepped in. All you did was get in the way.
Every major platform will be made aware of your conduct. People of color — especially Black fathers — stay away from this attorney. She does not understand our culture, our lives, or our commitment to our children. Check your account. Check your paperwork. Check what she took. She was absolutely wrong — legally, ethically, and morally.
You misrepresent your values and you hurt the very families you claim to defend. It’s time for you to walk away from this profession. You do not belong in it.
I am now in law school. We will meet again — in a setting where facts matter, justice speaks, and your lies no longer protect you.
Do not hire her.
To every parent fighting for their child: our children deserve better. And so do we.
