2 /5 Eli Akins: I came to Gentry Law Firm through a six-degrees connection to Bill Gentry himself, and based on that connection—and his direct assurance that I could reach out to him personally at any time—I expected professionalism, transparency, and care. Unfortunately, I experienced none of that.
From the start, my legal team changed three times. Each transition forced me to resubmit the same documents and explain my case over and over—costing both time and money. I was billed repeatedly for groundwork that had already been done. In the end, I paid nearly three times what I was initially quoted for what should have been a relatively straightforward divorce.
Even worse, the agreement the firm allowed me to sign kept me entangled in legal battles for over a year after the court finalized my divorce. I still don’t know if it was due to a lack of attention to detail or a poor understanding of the law, but I was left footing the bill—both financially and emotionally.
I’ve tried contacting Mr. Gentry several times since firing the firm, but have received no response. The promises he made about open communication and support were empty.
Like other reviewers, I feel deceived and taken advantage of. I put a lot of trust in this firm, and in return, I was left feeling used, unheard, and financially drained.
