Brandon Allen I absolutely loved Greater Community Bank. Their customer service, local presence, and friendly team made banking a truly personal experience. Unfortunately, since the recent transition to LGE, that experience has changed dramatically—and not for the better. While some of the same wonderful team members are still at this location (and they will be deeply missed), the overall transition has been terrible. The new systems are clunky and feel like a downgrade. One of the most frustrating changes is that you can no longer call the local branch directly—you’re routed to a generic call center that seems disconnected from the community. If LGE’s goal is to make a meaningful footprint in this area, they’re certainly making an impression—but not a positive one. I genuinely feel sorry for the employees who have to work within this new structure, especially those who once thrived in the customer-first culture of Greater Community Bank. When I first joined GCB, they had a perfect 5-star rating. That rating has already begun to drop, and based on my experience—and the feedback I’ve heard from others—I wouldn’t be surprised if it continues to decline rapidly. I’m now in the process of looking for a new bank, one that values local service and customer relationships. It’s a real shame to see such a great community bank lost in this merger.

Pam Davis Loved SGC. One of my roommates is still a super best friend. Learned to play bridge & won 2 bridge intramurals. Had some super professors (as well as some not so super) but will always have the fondest memories of that time. Joined the Drama Club which was a special experience. Was also co-editor of Elan ( our yearbook). Our mascot was a tiger and I helped to cover entrance to Richey Hall (a dorm then) with a huge tiger.

Tricia Rowland The actual office staff is nice when you go in person. However, this is the worst DFCS Office I have ever dealt with. They are constantly never following up with phone calls. They never answer the phone. All the phone numbers are always disconnected so you can never reach any of the case workers. I have literally been trying to apply for benefits since February of this year and have not been able to because every time I am supposed to have a phone call, nobody calls. And then whenever I call to reschedule, they just close out the case because they say that I missed my phone appointment even though nobody ever reached out to me. It is happened four times. And then when you call to reach a supervisor? Surprise! The number has been changed or disconnected or the person no longer works for the office. I have never had such horrible issues with any other county DFCS that I have received benefits from.

Susan Goss Mrs. Becky Unbehant has been so helpful to me! She is very efficient, and I would strongly recommend anyone to work with her for a loan.

James Duvall The folks at The Bank of Lafayette are very professional in their service and take personal care of each customer. They are hometown people which makes them better to deal with. They understand the issues people face in this area. If you will bring your financial concerns and needs to them they will work to do anything they can to help. Great place.
