Associated Credit Union - Carrollton (GA)

1 /5 Easy Nature: Have used this bank for a few years, but over the past year it has went downhill fast. Several instances of the bank being closed during regular business hours. I dont mean holidays or odd hours, I mean just randomly closed for no apparent reason. Theyve also closed the drive thru and replaced it with a live teller machine. I dont trust machines when making deposits, so my only option now to make a cash deposit is to park and go inside. I did try to use the live teller machine twice, and both times it was out of order. If it wasnt such a hassle to change my direct deposit, I would have already left this bank. If I could give them zero stars I would. I do not recommend, anywhere else has got to be better. Update: The last straw has been reached for us. Still no drive thru service available and now they have added a kiosk where you have to log in and enter information before you can get service from a teller. Its like they are driving customers away on purpose, absolutely ridiculous. We have opened new accounts elsewhere and will close our accounts here as soon as possible.

1 /5 Donny Karr: Ive banked with ACU for 7 years and it has been awful. Extremely poor customer service and interest rates are unreal. Ive been randomly charged overdraft fees when my account was nowhere near overdrafted on several occasions. Theyve also processed charges in order of payment amount, instead of processing them in the order in which they were initially charged so that they can force your account to overdraft. This has happened on several occasions. Save yourself the trouble, use a different bank.

1 /5 russell grizzle: Very difficult to deal with. After calling and setting up a car loan, I went to the Carrollton branch with what I was told I needed. That didnt go as planned. What should have been a short and simple process turned into a 1.5 hour fiasco. Website is substandard to put it nicely. This bank seems to be about 25 years behind my primary bank. Drive thru is no longer open when I go by but I am welcome to deal with an ATM instead of a person apparently. Paid off loan I spoke of this week but even though the funds from my primary bank have been transferred to acu I still have to wait 10 days to have the title released. I cannot wait to close my accounts and be finished with this absolute joke. I absolutely do not recommend this bank to anyone.

1 /5 Diane Currie: The customer service use to be okay and the associate at the desk would usually fill in and assist if the other associates are busy or it get busy. But it was bad last I came in and it was me and one other customer, and I come here every so often. The last time I stopped by the associate at the teller window had a sign saying, next teller, up but no one else was at any of the other windows, and there was an associate at a desk, she normally would assist and ask if I need help or try to assist but she didnt this time. I ended up having to wait on teller at window with the sign up, even though I had all my information ready. There was another customer inside that was filling out papers and as soon as she finished the lady at desk started talking and assisting her; she was white and Im of Africans American nationality. Its sad about the partiality and favoritism treatment that goes on these days. The associate at teller window didnt apologize when she forgot a request I asked of her and I had to remind her and she went on as though as though it didnt matter and started correcting it, but its sad, customer is going down and partiality is going on today in service. They need help with customer service attitude and the show of favoritism with certain customers that come in.

3 /5 Darlene Kirby: I have always been pleased with this Credit Union until recently. After my surgery I signed up for the Bill pay thinking I was going to need to use it to pay one of my bills since I dont have checks with ACU. Turns out I didnt use it and never have. I noticed for the last 3 months that ACU has charged me $5.00 for bill pay fee. I called to inquire as to why the charges? I was told that since I didnt use the service I am charged. If I use the service its free and they gave me 3 months free. What?? This policy sounds backward to me. I had them deactivate the bill pay services. I have never experienced this with a bank. Shame on me for not researching the information about the bill pay services. The bill pay service at my previous financial institution was always free no matter if you used it or not. ACU you will lose customers practicing this kind of business.
