1 /5 Maria Iversen: I contacted Jessica back in July for a consultation. I called the number provided and did not hear back from her for 3 days. I am an understanding person, who realizes legal positions are overwhelming and busy. I had a wonderful conversation with her about representing my husband and I in an adoption/custody case. She informed me her pricing and I communicated with her that I needed to speak to my husband. Fast forward to August 15, 2025 when I reached out to her office to hire her for services, I was unable to connect with her and left a voicemail stating that my husband and I spoke and we would like to connect with you about the next steps. Please contact me back. Surprise Surprise I hadnt heard back from her. I CALLED AGAIN August 21, Thursday. I left a brief message and was contacted by her shortly after the message. Upon describing to her who I was, she immediately cut me off to say " It sounds like from your message, that I did hear but didnt have an opportunity to call you back about, that you are looking to have another consultation and I do not conduct repeat consultations." This demeanor is no way to speak to a potential client who was still willing to hire the services even after she ASSUMED what my phone call was about and didnt find the time to call back. I stated to her that I would still like to hire her for representation and she began to tell me how it " sounds like I ( me, the client) have a bad taste in my mouth about her and her services" based on my comments back of her assumptions that I was only calling to "inconvenience" her with another consultation. I politely explained to her my frustrations about contacting her office and being dismissed on both occasions that I called and never receiving contact back until I called again. Ill be honest, I read the reviews and was super excited to work with someone like her. Strong, motivated, determined. After the interactions I have had I will say that its displeasing to hear how her assumptions about my financial situation (in which she commented on during our first call), her lack of interest to connect after messages and phone calls, and her inability to LISTEN to someone who is trying to hire her, has deterred me from working with her and her team. If you are being hired by someone, which means I am entitled to questions and your time, assuming someones circumstances and your misunderstanding of a message shouldnt be your excuse to jump the gun and be condescending. Its unfortunate to find those google reviews I was willing to look past are actually quite accurate. MONEY HUNGRY, CONDESCENDING, RUDE representation of your law firm. Thanks for listening. Please dont send back an ingenuine " We are so sorry for your experience with us" because if you were you would have taken the 3 minutes to listen to me instead of thinking youre right just because you practice LAW. Kindness goes a long way.
