1 /5 Aya Chacar: Security gone mad. I have had this bank for many years. They were super slow and bureaucratic but provided low mortgage fees and rate so I put up with it. Now it has become impossible to access your money. They block Zelle transfers. Everything requires security checks- several times in a single transaction. And most of the times the security systems they have are too slow and zero in before they are done - and are timed out or unaccepted so you start again - and go through the same stupid attempts. Tried 7 types of security confirmation and still did not work through no fault of my own. It takes also for ever to figure out how to get to a human being on the phones now. I spent many hours over three days to try and unblock Zelle unsuccessfully - and to try and make a single wire within the US. IT gone mad. I am just in the process of withdrawing all my money. Not worth the waste of time and aggravation. There are many better options out there for banking.

1 /5 Chris W. James: PenFed cancelled my credit card despite a spotless history and a 780 score, citing “balances elsewhere.” Loyalty clearly means nothing. Their website is outdated, clunky, and even paying a bill takes 9 clicks. Out of touch, inconvenient, and unfair — look elsewhere.

1 /5 stephen parish: Over 10 times they have denied me purchases. I have called and talked to them on numerous occasions. They still won’t correct it and the money sits in pending for 5 business dads and it continues to happen. There is plenty of money in the account and they are refusing to allow the purchase every now and then. Sometimes it goes through, then numerous other times they deny it. Don’t bank with them as they won’t let you spend your money where you want too.

1 /5 Ryan: Do not use them. Credit unions are supposed to be for customers; its not supposed to be like big, cold, heartless banks, but this one is. I sold my truck two days before my payment was due. The payment is taking longer than expected, so I called to let them know it was on the way. I asked if they could help a long-term customer whos never had a late payment, just extend my grace period a bit. They said, "Nope, youll get a late fee." I explained I used my monthly payment towards the down payment, they didnt care.

2 /5 Anita Williams: I have been a member with Penfed for over 30 years and have never been to a branch before. After this experience, I am grateful that I do not have to repeatedly do this! I came in person to make a cash deposit. WOW! One teller ...and shes slow like molasses going up a hill. There were seven of us in line with her and although there was another person servicing the drive thru, that lady didnt even see fit to ask to service the next person in line. Where is the customer service? Didnt give one star because she was polite when I was finally served. This is not rocket science! Since you are not equipped with personnel to service more than 2-3 persons, a system needs to be in place to avoid persons, especially retired older people to stand for over 30 minutes in a line. You have all of these chairs. Simply, have a numbered ticket system so we can sit & wait. I see why your reviews are so terrible.
