4 /5 Kim Nichols: I absolutely had the best experience at Owenby Law, with lawyer D. Curt Esq. at the Atlantic blvd office. She was so personable, super friendly and just an awesome person. The whole process was so fast. The only negative would be that I did have to pay additional money after the retainer. Although the whole process took 4 days total. I believe 9 hrs total. That’s the only negative though. I would use them again if I needed a family attorney. Definitely keeping D. Curt’s info because she was just amazing.

1 /5 Ella Erm: My Experience with Owen Law – A Disappointing and Costly Mistake What was supposed to be a very simple probate case turned into a frustrating, expensive, and drawn-out ordeal. When I initially consulted with Amanda at Owen Law, I was told that my situation was straightforward and “should not cost much.” There wasn’t much to claim, and the process, according to her, should be easy. Unfortunately, this turned out to be far from the truth. The firm dragged the process over an extended period. I was forced to regularly follow up myself—by email or short phone calls—just to check on the status. Shockingly, each of these minimal interactions ended up costing hundreds of dollars, which I only discovered when I received monthly bills. Even worse, it was later determined that probate wasn’t necessary at all, since I was next of kin with a last will in place. Despite this, I was told I would now need to hire another lawyer to get the case closed—something that should have been made clear upfront. From the start, I was misled about the cost and complexity. There was no transparency around billing, and I felt trapped once I signed the contract with the firm. It felt like there was no way out—even when the firm was clearly not serving my best interests. In my opinion, Owen Law took advantage of a sensitive situation and overcharged for unnecessary and poorly explained legal work. I do not recommend this firm, especially if you’re looking for honest guidance and transparent billing during what is likely a difficult time.
