After researching lawyers that specialize in defending those type of cases I reached out to him to discuss the matter. Mr. Maverick took the time to discuss the case with my partner at the time and myself. 5 /5 Ryan Kuhn: I was in a real bad situation getting bullied by a disgruntled former employer. The former employer woke up one day 6 years after I left his employ, well outside any applicable statute of limitations, and decided to sue me for alleged violations of non-compete, non-solicit, etc. The former employer hired two top 20 law firms to take his case and come after me. Their strategy was to try to suffocate me with legal fees. I got into a further bad situation by hiring the wrong defense attorney, a top 100 nationwide law firm, who unilaterally decided to execute an ill-conceived strategy to counter sue a Florida case in a Federal District Los Angeles Court. Mind you, now I’m only in the third inning on this litigation and already six figures deep in attorney fees. It came to my realization that I was being bilked by my own attorney. In any event, I eventually fired the nationwide law firm and hired a local hero. Peter Mavrick, in my opinion, is the best employment lawyer in Florida jurisdiction / law. He was gracious enough to step in and take on my messy case in the fifth inning. He truly cared about me and my situation and he knew I was being taken advantage of and wanted to help me out and make sure there was justice. In fact, Peter whipped the opposing top 20 nationwide law firm counsel so badly that they resigned 30 days before trial, after a 2-year pursuit. Then Peter showed up in trial and just obliterated the opposing attorney, who was a former Judge in the same exact courthouse and thought he could roll me over in his own backyard.
