1 /5 Karl Piessens: Please, if you have any other choice, do not use Citizens Insurance. They have no respect for the contracts they enter into with their customers. They will find any reason to deny your claim and they have the full cooperation of the courts and the Florida legislation. This enables them to operate in bad faith with no consequences. Other insurance companies are not allowed to get away with the things that Citizens does to its customers. If you ever file a claim with this company, you will end up embroiled in a legal battle for a year or more. They will manipulate forensic inspection reports to claim that you damaged your own roof, or that contractors damaged your roof in the process of assessing the damage that they will always deny coverage on. This company is not to be trusted. They are too politically connected to be of any use to the people of Florida. The state of Florida protects them, while they do everything they can to abandon the people who pay for their coverage. As soon as my claim is settled with this company, I will be canceling my coverage with them. I would rather pay $1,000 more a year for coverage with a company that wont screw me over when I file a claim, rather than deal with this corrupted and politically embedded company.

1 /5 Leslie Watts: Seriously disappointed in our claims experience with Citizens. Tree fell on our home on 10/9, filed claim 10/10 from Hurricane Milton. Took 2 weeks for the field adjuster to come to our home for inspection. I get it, natural disaster everyone had damage. 3 desk adjusters and 69 days later we get our initial estimate. The adjuster didnt write for even half the damage. We have 5 broken trusses and he didnt include any of that in the estimate. Approved 13k to REPLACE my roof.....No wonder my desk rep couldnt understand why we couldnt live in the home! Now we start the fight to getting the proper damage covered. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

1 /5 Darren Gardner: Not good carrier. They have had my claim sitting in idle since October 2023. I requested for Citizens to send an engineer to my property because of the servers structural issues. In return, they never responded. Only to respond in March asking for an engineer to come out and cancelled my emergency living expenses. They acted like I don’t have expenses and bills from this incident. They severely underpaid me and didn’t event list 1/8 of the actual damages. The initial inspection was a joke, like literally they didn’t care and don’t care. My home is still in disfunction. They’re not a good company!

1 /5 April Pepper: Worst insurance carrier ever. In my opinion a total scam organization. My home is robbed I lost everything I worked my entire life for and after 1 year fighting with them all I get offered is a measly 10% of all I’ve lost and can never replace. I paid 14 yrs of insurance with this company only to be screwed as bad as the people who robbed my home. Offered me to replace this and that if I sent receipts, which I did then they take it away and go back on their promise. Do Not select this company. They’re a total rip off and con artists. I will be going to the BBB and posting as well
