1 /5 F S: If you are smart, you will not do any business with Brown and Brown, whether it is commercial or individual. Find a broker who answers the phone and knows business. I could not reach them for weeks. By the time someone return my call, they are clueless as to how my policy works. Their agents come and go on monthly bases. Very unstable business and no management. They will not give you a Florida local number to their location but only an 800 #. Disastrous, none existing , not knowledgable agents. Two to four years in business and clueless. I have homeowner insured and wanted to insure a piece of jewelry. The first question was not the value of the jewelry but my DOB. The agent was getting a quote on line not by collecting relevant information and calling back with a quote from couple of insurance companies. In addition, my current policy number and who handles it changes on monthly bases over the last 10 years. The change pertains not only to an agent but also location of the agency, all over Florida. This business is a hoax which sole purpose is to stuff Mr. Brown’s pockets. Do not think you will ever talk to and agency manager, they do not talk to their customers no matter what the problem maybe. They do not have phone numbers!!! The person I spoke to said he would CANCEL my policy when I said I will transfer it to another brokerage firm which has a customer service. He was clueless what I was talking about. Of course I forbid him to touch it or make any changes. Disgusting business to deal with. Do yourself a favor and find a real, professionals. Do not fall for the “kiss up” reviews by friends or members of the agency, or people who did business and never needed service.
