1 /5 Mark Riches: I am thoroughly disgusted with Allstate, in general, and Bill Anderson, specifically. We have been Allstate customers for over three years. In that time period our 6- month premiums have gone from $1850 to over $3,000. As part of our policy we signed up for Roadside assistance, which we used a handful of times (once for a dead battery and twice for flat tires). Only to find out they treated these as claims and grounds for substantial increases in our premiums. When we called the office, you rarely spoke with our agent, Bill Anderson, but typically an office assistant who "promised" to pass our concern on to Bill. Im still waiting for that return call.
The final insult was classifying a windshield replacement as an accident, which will now stay on my driving record for the next three years. When confronted with this, his office acknowledged that this was an error by the corporate office. We asked him to contact the corporate office and get this reclassified as a claim as part of our comprehensive policy. They absolutely refused. Stating that it was up us to contact corporate and convince them of the error. Isnt that what an agent is supposed to do?
We have now dropped Allstate and gone over to Progressive, which is saving us over $2,000 a year. It would have been more, but the windshield "accident" increased our premium $300. BEWARE of Allstate and Bill Anderson.
