4 /5 Frank Spady: I had no idea how to plot my retirement. I am 43 years old and havent done much as a business owner. I was starting to stress about my familys financial security and if I could ever retire. Lets face it Social Security is not a definitive plan at this time, plus hardly enough to live on in California. So I started talking to friends. One friend wanted me to invest in a self-directed IRA. It seemed like a risky venture, but I was seriously considering it. Then I started reading up on Roths. I wasnt really sure what it was after I finished, but I did know that there were some tax benefits. My brother recommended annuities. Im thinking to myself, "Life insurance before Im dead..." Finally I found my financial advisor after doing a lot of research online and getting references. I needed to know what was what. Winship Wealth provided me with all of my options. They also provided me with education. I hate feeling like Im blindly going into something. I feel a lot better about my portfolio now, and I wasnt put into some cookie cutter plan just so everyone could make a profit. His success is dependent on mine, and I like that. There are of course still some risks, and I dont know if Ill ever totally understand everything, but thats why I have a financial planner, right?
