T.J. Maxx - Davis (CA)

1 /5 Ellen Sun: I’m bring an online item to return to store, unfortunately the online warehouse made a mistake put no return on slip. The store refuses to scan bar code even though I present email clearly says “present this bar code for free rerun in store”. One of the manager (with glasses) was ok, she provided me a customer service phone number to call for this problem. The other manager was super rude and refused to explain anything with he impatient face and tone. The whole time I was calm to present my situation and ask what I need to do in this case, I was surprised that the other manager had no management skill at all and with an attitude. I’m a manger too working for California state, every manager supposed to have basic management training and threshold to become a manager, I don’t understand how can a person with no customer skills or problem solving skills become a manager in this store. I hope TJ MAXX would at least have some training to educate their managers.

5 /5 kate fortin: Many excellent clothing finds here, fine purse collection, pet supplies !!, cosmetic treasures, etc. VERY nice, well kept, huge store. Fine staff and management. The best TJMAXX, well stocked.

4 /5 Theodore Harrison III: Nice clean store. There was lots of parking, including two handicap parking spaces with van access. The store has nice bathrooms. It has a good selection of merchandise and the store appears to be restocked regularly. Like most stores, there is a lack of cashiers but overall it is a very nice store.

3 /5 Tiana Fayed: I visited the store recently and it was extremely busy, with a noticeably short-staffed team. There didn’t seem to be any floor staff available to assist, and the only cashier working at the front had a long line of customers to handle on her own. Despite the overwhelming situation, she remained calm, professional, and impressively efficient. She worked quickly through each transaction while keeping a friendly attitude and making sure everything was handled correctly. Her dedication definitely stood out and deserves recognition. She had curly dark hair and glasses, even though the overall staffing situation made the experience more stressful than it needed to be.

5 /5 Leanne: I love shopping here. Unfortunately I shop here too much but that’s another story. Honestly my favorite place to pick up gymwear I’ve also come across some great NBA gear and all clad cookware. There’s always great deals to be had here. The staff are super nice, i feel like a few of them have been there for as long as I’ve been in Davis. They’re always super friendly and nice. I do wish they didn’t have to try sell that credit card so heavily but I know that’s just them following orders. Frankly for how much I shop here it eventually made sense to get it. However, before I did, I always hated having to tell them no. It’s kind of an annoying conversation to have repeatedly especially when I first moved here as an immigrant with no credit history! The store is generally always tidy, gets new stuff regularly and is easy to find what you’re looking for in.
