Elisha Xin WEI I came to the U.S. in 2019 to pursue a master’s degree at a seminary. At the same time, I noticed that the environment for religious faith in my home country was worsening. Upon a friend’s recommendation, I found Attorney Wang and submitted my asylum application in August 2020. I still vividly remember the first time I walked into his office. The four-hour interview completely drained me—I could only mechanically respond to all the interrogations. I felt that my performance was mediocre. But at the last moment, Attorney Gong’s professional closing statement felt like a lifeline, giving me hope again. After what felt like an eternity of waiting, on March 8th, I finally received a letter from USCIS. The moment I tore open the envelope and saw the word “approval,” I fell to my knees at the doorway, crying out loud—thanking God for His faithfulness and feeling deeply grateful for this result.
