First we looked on the State Bar of California website to get a list of attorneys in our area that specialized in estate planning. We narrowed that list down quite a bit by choosing attorneys with ~10 years of experience; the idea was to pick an attorney with enough experience to be proficient in preparing estate plans but also young enough so that they would be able to support possible revisions over the next 20 years. Using our short list, we looked at the Yelp reviews and the websites. Shannon Liu Shair stood out because of her exceptional qualifications, great reviews, and personable website. Shannon has a structured yet stress-free process to developing an estate plan. Over a few weeks she led us through the process, answering all our questions along the way, to produce a customized estate plan that suits us perfectly. During this process, we were unsure how to assign one of our accounts to the trust as there were different explanations on the web.
