2 /5 Brittni McFarland: I have gone here years ago and was happy with my services, so when I moved back to Susanville I went there again. I did not have one of my W2s due to the fact that I had moved and it had been returned to sender. I did, however, have a photo of it. When I walked in I explained that and was given a card and told to email it to that address. I did and then filled out my paperwork. When it came time to input my numbers I was told I was getting around $11,000. Shocked, because I had never been told I was getting back so much, I asked if that was accurate. I was assured that it was due to my dependents. I was still skeptical, but obviously hopeful it was accurate. I went in to get my paperwork a few days later and was told that my W2 I emailed in was not included in my return and that they needed to do an amendment. They processed my amendment and then told me I would receive around $6,000. I was then told that if the amendment didn’t go through in time and I received the 11 thousand I would need to come in for a paper with instructions on how to pay the difference back to the IRS (which I had to do with my state already due to that number being higher than it should have been). I went in to get the paper after the 11 thousand was put into my account and was told I would be getting back $4,000. Their was no real explanation to the $2,000 difference other than she “handles a lot of returns and can’t remember each one off the top of her head” she also said that I should just give the money back now while I have it. Very cold, very unapologetic and made it very easy to not return here in the future. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 only because I’m sure it could have gone worse but as for me, I will not be doing my taxes here again.
