1 /5 Thomas Zikos: Ms. Silva served as opposing counsel in my recent divorce. However, I did contribute $5000 towards her legal fees. As a paying customer, I feel justified in writing this review.
My ex-wife left me with little to no warning, her choice. Though I don’t agree with her reason to leave, I do respect her decision. We were actually amicable and talking during the first 2 months of the separation. Then enter Ms. Silva. Though I will admit I don’t have the full details and how much of this was my wife vs advice from her legal counsel. Regardless, my wife and I are now 1-year post-separation and officially divorced. We are not on speaking terms, and are moving forward in life as legal, personal, and professional adversaries. All positivity from our prior marriage, which lasted 6.5 years, has been destroyed.
Ms. Silva pursued the maximal settlement from me, which accounted to about 66% of marital funds paid to my ex-wife (we had no children and my exs family is quite wealthy, as an aside). I also completely lost ownership of our dog (which was like a child to both of us). I did not find her professional or fair-minded, in my opinion. She did not promote an amicable settlement. She says she needed to act in her client’s best interest, but may have failed to consider that completely destroying a relationship, which was so special, may not be in her client’s best interest.
If you are looking to maximize the amount of money you can squeeze out of your ex, she may be right for you. If you want to maintain a decent relationship, then maybe not.
