5 /5 Victor Poirier: Being a victim of the current California Insurance Commissioners regime, I found myself abruptly without a policy. The reason, absurd. The powers that be, simply dont want fair and honest trade in this state. I had just about given up, as all the major players were no long underwriting policies for my area I was told time and time again. I was "bare" and sleeping with one eye open. By a stroke of good luck, I was placed in front of Ian Schmidt and his outfit at Farmers. Expecting another "door slam" what happened next was nothing short of a miracle. Ian immediately put me at ease, with just a few questions a policy was signed within a few hours. I was hearing that folks in my position, if able to find an insurer, were paying premiums up to and over a %500 increase from original. I am very pleased to say my premium increase is a fraction from what my old insurer was charging.
