1 /5 Leticia Street: I am writing to give feedback on my recent appointment at the Salinas CA AAA branch today, Friday April 18 at 3:20. I made an appointment to discuss potential home insurance (I already have auto with AAA). I wish I had the name of the agent to share. I felt the agent was very unprofessional; at the time of my appointment, my name was called, but instead of introducing himself and directing me to a desk or other work area, he addressed me in front of the full waiting room and began asking me questions about my inquiry.
Im not sure how this office usually handles appointments but I am accustomed to being greeted and led to a more private area to conduct the appointment. Instead he immediately began asking me questions and told me I needed to "get the age of the roof of my home" in order to proceed (this is while we were still standing in the waiting area). He then asked me more questions and when I showed him a letter of non renewal from my previous insurance company, he loudly told me in front of the full waiting room that "theres nothing we can do for you here" and to contact my old insurance company with any questions I had.
I felt very disregarded, pushed aside, disrespected and honestly embarrassed by the way I was treated by this agent. I have been a AAA customer for many years for my auto insurance and am honestly considering finding another insurer after this experience. I will be calling the branch with this review as well. My hope is that no other customers have this experience at this branch; in these times we are in customer service really matters and this was an awful example. I do not have an issue with AAA being unable to offer me home insurance; I am, however, very upset at how I was communicated with and the way I was treated.
